McDonalds and feet

hey guys, theres like almost no time but im doing really well, im with a new companion in a new area called mushoqueque. its sweet, more dangerous but its way sweet. im learning a ton and i sure love you all. my new companions name is elder avendaño from chile, hes a tank and im learning a ton from him. this week, yesterday actually we found a fam of 7 and they were so awesome, they had a bunch of really super good questions and it was a way powerful lesson. its been a way good week for sure.

this week was insane haha

This week was so wild. But at the same time it was so darn sweet. So we started this week finding a bunch of new people to teach then on wednessday we had a multi zone and one of the 70, elder held came. It was way sweet. We learned a ton from him and his wife, also from our own president. Then on thursday we had an interchange with the zone leaders, it was the first time i had left my area for like 3 months haha. That was wild. It was a good time tho. I went with an elder named elder tagge. That was way fun, we taught a few of his investigators. My companion elder castro directed the area for the first time in his mission cuz hes so new, and aparently he did so well that they decided to take me out of here. but ill get to that a bit later. So yeah then Saturday we were out teaching at night and had just about finished up the day and so we went back to the appartment and out of nowhere the power in the whole city went out haha so we went out onto our roof to see and take pictures and everything haha and when we got up there we heard a bunch of yelling and crazy stuff going on. Turns out when theres no light, nobodys safe here in peru haha. So after a little while of being up there we went down to hit the hay and get some rest. so we went to sleep and 10 mins later someone is just banging on our door, and i was spooked. like i thought we were gonnna get robbed. But i didnt wanna go check it out, but the banging kept going so i went to check it out. and turnes out it was the zone leaders and the sisters and it was like 10:30 at night, way past the time we needed to be in the appartment so i was way confused haha. so we answered the door and there was a problem with the sisters appartment and long story short we had to go sleep with the zone leaders that night haha. it was a good time haha. yeah then last night we got the changes.... it was wild. usually when your with a new guy youre with him for 2 changes (3months) and its bee one month and a half. but anyways they called us last night and told us that im out of here. so that was a crazy thing to have happen, im going to an area called mushoqqueque... the most dangerous part of the mission, and im gonna be in charge of a zone of 28 missionaries... wish me luck haha. but for reals im way stoked for the chance to be able to grow and learn a ton. thats pretty much whats happened this week. ill update you guys some more next week on what ends up going down in these next few days haha. anyways i sure love you guys!!

It's like a dream

Hey guys the mission is like the coolest thing ever, for reals I'm like coming up on a year, (almost haha) and its like a dream for reals, its the most amazing thing ever. for those who just got on a mission, who are preparing to go, or who might go or are thinking about it, or even those who aren't thinking about it. Please, like trust me 100% when I tell you it will change your life. It's changed mine and I wouldn't give up this time that I've already had for anything. It's life changing, the most amazing thing ever. You literally get to know our Father in Heaven, His Son, and its the most amazing thing. Just be like nike and "Just do it" you guys. Its the best.

This week was awesome. We found a lot of new people and a lot of them came to church and have a baptismal date, they're really excited. i did a voice recording of a few things that happened this week and it doesnt even begin to explain what actually happened, i just cant even put these things into words.

i love being a missionary June 3, 2019

this week was so good, but literally so sad. but were good, lemme tell you what happened. 

so last week that family that i talked about in the voice recording, they were so awesome and we were so stoked. we went by, went by again, and again. and they werent home, went by with members and nothing. last night were walking back from a just devistating experience that ill tell you about in a sec. and we find them!! and were like hey how are you all?? when can we come visit you?? they looked us dead in the eyes and said yeah sorry look we already listened and were catholic, dont come back. BROKE MY HEART. but hey these things happen. anyways the other sad part was that 20 mins before that we were coming back from an appt and ran into a brother of one of our converts. totally drunk, i went and gave him a hug and was like hey man lets go home huh? (again looks me dead in the eyes) and says "look elder, why dont you visit us anymore? its been 3 weeks, were lost without you guys. look at me elder, look at me, were lost" i just lost it. i felt so much love for him in that moment. we finished the conversation and kept walking. passed a park and i just lost it, i was so sad and so angry at the same time. i wanted to cry, but at the same time i wanted to like punch something. i felt like neither of those wouldve been a a good choice so i just started repping out a bunch of pushups until i could calm dowm. i was just heart broken for this guy. anyways what i learned from it was love, like i imagine how much the savior loves us. ah man just crazy stuff on the mission i love it, literally the mission is the most incredible thing ever. if you have the chance to do it... dont miss out, go for it its incredible take my word for it.

THIS WEEK WAS AMAZING May 27, 2019

this week was one of the coolest weeks here on the mission.

had a few amazing experiences that really just changed the game for me. theres a few of them there in this voice recording. but man just know that this week was just so awesome. 

im doing really well and learning literally so much. being a missionary is one of the coolest things in the whole wide world.

transfers May 6, 2019

this week was wild, so my old comp elder villarreal went home... and everyone in the whole mission knows who their next comp is... but me and 11 others have to wait until tomorrow to find out cuz theyre not here yet. anyways this week was way good, we laughed a lot, cried a lot, said goodbye a lot. long week haha..

we had a baptism of a sister named lily shes awesome and were working with her mom now. heres a few pics, anyways we gotta boggie but ill catch you all up next week love ya tons!!!!!!!!

Going Hard In The Paint May 13, 2019

for those of you who know me well, know basketball is a top 10 for me, so i figured id make a basketball reference. this week ive been teaching elder castro how to be a missionary and all that fun stuff, and ive heard the best way to teach is by example. so this week weve just been going way hard. knocking every door that i feel any sort of feeling, talking with as many people as i possibly can, finding new people to teach and inviting them to change their lifes. its been a good week and ill tell ya what im learning quite a bit!! 

so i thought id share an experience from this week.

so we had an appt sunday night, and we were going to it. then on the way i felt way strongly to turn down this one dirt road that was kinda dangerous. but i felt the promting to do it so we did, i knocked a few doors and nobody was home and others didnt want anything. so then i was like well that was dumb lets go to the appt, so we started going and i felt it again. so then i turned back around went further and knocked more. then i saw a road that went left so i was like thats the one and then i saw a green house and was like okay thats the one so i went to knock it and this one lady opened up and was like NO she didnt want anything. but then this venezuelan was like no we wanna hear so we came in and shared with them... then i looked up and one of them looked just like a good pal of mine (just from venezuela) and it was awesome we shared with them and it was a great lesson. it helped me know that i need to listen to the spirit, always haha..

were doing really well here. sharing the gospel with a lot of people and changing their lifes. its incredible to be a missionary.

Yo Yo Yo April 29, 2019

this week was way awesome. 

were working with a few people that are way awesome, one of them has had a lot of problems in the past with a lot of things, we had a lesson with her and invited her to repent so she could get baptized, when she did she said she felt something she had never felt before, it was a great experience and way cool to see how the restored gospel of jesus christ can change someones life.

were working really hard and have gotta hippity hop to go teach the gospel, talk to yall next week!!! love yaaaaaaaa

This weeeeeeek

hey everyone this week was a good one. ill just tell of a spiritual experience real
fast cuz weve gotta boggie to an appointment haha.

so this week we found this family and they are having a ton of family problems
 and we were praying on how we could help them and what we could do for them.
 long story short we had a long lesson with them last night and figured it all out.
there were a lot of tears on both sides. but its all looking good now and it was a
great experience.

we helped a few people get their first saving ordinance this week and it was
awesome heres some pics!! have a great week!!!!!!

guys how are you all? im so sorry, ive been slacking on this group email and letting you guys know whats going on and how things are going here in peru!! But im glad to say that ill fill you all in right now!

So, things are going really well. we are working really hard to find people to teach the restored gospel of jesus christ. just for the fun of being spontaneous right now im listening to a song called savior may i learn to love thee. and i must say, this song has never had a bigger impact on me like its having right now. "i would be my brothers keeper" as missionaries and as representatives of Jesus Christ that is our number one job, to be our brothers keeper, im VERY far away from my brother strider (who i love so much, same with all my sisters) but i have an amazing chance to be here with all of my other brothers and sisters (the people of peru) its my job, my sacred responsability to bless the lives of these people, and im so grateful to be here and to be able to take part in this change that these people are making in their lives. its incredible.

for those of you who were able to hear what the literal prophet of god said, i invite you to pay attention and do what you need to do. for those who were not able to, i invite you to listen to it with and open heart and mind. doesnt matter if we dont share the same beliefs, i ask you to listen to it. and see what the prophet of god had to say to all of us. heres the link https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2019/04/media/session_4_talk_11/6023636999001?lang=eng

i know that this prophet was called and ordained of god himself. what he had to say touched my heart and i could feel the spirit so strongly. i hope you guys are able to feel the same.

howdy everyone i love you hha. i got transfered to this new area and its awesome!! ive already put on a few pounds so thats a good thing for sure haha. the members here are awesome!! theres like 200 or more active members!

when i got here we literally had no investigators... 0... and the area book had nothing so that was rough. kinda like starting over. but hey its been good. we found 9 new people to teach this week so that was good. 

wow ill be honest with you all im amazed at how much ive grown, not only physicaly but spiritually. its really awesome. this week i learned a lot of things, had a lot of really amazing experiences that honestly im amazed. ill tell yall in 18 months haha. but its really good out here the work is going well, i look back at who i was and im blown away. but just wow haha.

hey so i dont have much time.... so ill be brief. or breif... not sure haha.

anyways pretty much im heading to a new area called demetrio acosta 3. and my new comp is gonna be Elder Vealreal from bolivia. its gonna be good im stoked.

ill tell ya what saying goodbye to families that literally become your fam is hard. its like leaving home over, and over, and over again. its really sad honestly. but the good thing is how much these people have grown. one family in particular. the chavez family. i cried for 30 mins last night no joke because of how much ill miss them, we talked and talked and shared experiences and it was so awesome. they are amazing and are working so hard in their callings even though they just barely got baptized, they are amazing. 

anyways more to come next week cuz were headed to say goodbye to everyone. but love you all!! love those who are around you!!

Week... not sure haha Feb 4 2019

this week was a goodie as per usual haha. obviosly not all is fun and games but when you look for the good you find it, (same with the bad)

anyways things are going well, we had an interchange, i had cereal for the first time in almost 6 months... lifechanging i must say. 

this next week its pretty likely that i get transferred out of patapo which is 2 bad but i know its all part of a plan. honestly ive gotta give at least a little bit of a shoutout to these people, they are awesome, this ward has grown, not only in numbers but the members have grown so much and im so grateful for all of them, especially my ward mission leader brother edson. he really is the mvp. hes helped me through quite a bit of hard days or even weeks, that guy is awesome. 

one really cool thing from this week was finding 2 families. both without a dad. and the kids, all boys are about my age and they just totally opened up to me like i was their big brother. which really hit me, ive always wondered why im the oldest in my fam, its kinda hard being the example sometimes, (hard to be a good example anyways) but these families really helped me see why im the oldest, so i could help them and relate to them, also this week i got an answer to this same question from BOTH my mom who i absolutley love so darn much and im so grateful for her and whi has helped me become who i am today and who i can become in the future... AND my step mom who i love so darn much and has done so much for me in helping me prepare for this sacred time on the mission.  SHOUTOUT to all the moms, you guys are awesome. 

haha i got another haircut and ill tell ya what my hair just cant catch a break lol. someday it will look normal hahaha...

so we had a super spiritual expirience in english connect which is the class i teach, i decided to teach a silent (or quiet) lesson after about jesus christ and i dont have much time to say everything that happend, ill tell you what we all felt the spirit. and it was a great experience... i was crying pretty hard which its a good thing im so far from you all right now cuz im an ugly cryer... i think haha. im ugly anyways let alone a crying elder allred hahahaha. anyways i love you all so much!! hope youre week is soooooo awesome!!!

guys how are ya??? 

hope youre all doing well! i love hearing from you all and all the support you give me. its the bestest. 

This week was a good one!! not gonna lie, not every week is a good week. but i can say that good things happen every week, miracles even. every week so its been a good thing to keep looking for those!!

missionary work is incredible. honestly its quite somethimg. i cant really describe it, and to be honest without doing it you couldnt really know, you literally feel every emotion... almost every day haha. and its the best thing ever. 

we had a baptism this week and it was really special!! the hermana that got baptized is awesome. we found her and her mom one day and contacted them. and boom one month later she got baptized. it stood as a testimony to me that there are always people ready for this message. sometimes we think ( as missionaries) awe this person is so close!! just not quite there. but what ive found is what it says in doctrine and covanants. that 1st the field is white and ready to harvest, (not yellow and almost ready). and 2nd that someday everyones gonna hear this message when the savior comes again. the lord promised us those 2 things, and I, Elder Phoenix Allred. Know without a shadow of doubt that the lord fulfills his promises. 

to finish up this email, i really hope you are all doing well. i love hearing what youre up to and how things are. please, if theres anything i can do for you, super duper far away, let me know. because i love and care about every single one of you. 

im gonna put a quote form an email i got this week from a good old pal from brighton whos also serving in peru (just a different part) but i really liked it so here ya go haha

Good things to an end Jan 1, 2019

these few weeks have been great... but ill tell ya what today was a way sad day, i said goodbye to my bestest buddy for 12 weeks. elder salas. he was literally a brother to me, one of the most amazing people ive ever met. honestly ME, except from argentina. you would all absolutley love him, that is assuming you love me lol. he went to jaen which is 7 hours from here so i might not see him for a while. 

But the good news is today i got a new comp, his name is elder Oré. from peru. i dont know much about him because he doesnt talk much but im sure ill know more by next week. 

christmas was way good!! we played basketball that was awesome haha, im terrible now so thats to bad haha.

im just gonna say how much i love hearing from all of you!!!!! its awesome sauce. 

this week was a good week. long, but way good!! we had a multi zone and that was a good time. learned a ton from our mission president!! as usual haha hes so smart. 

i started the book of Alma in the book of mormon today. man ill tell you what the book of mormon, i dont care what anyone says, that book is the truth. 100 percent. 

i had a cool experience i wanna tell yall haha. so we were walking one say and i felt like i should knock this door of an investigator we have. i shook it off at first, then felt it again... so i knocked it, she wasnt there but her son was and he invited us to share with him, we did. taught about the plan of salvation which is awesome, then invited him to be baptized. so cool how the lorn works sometimes. 

we had a baptism this week and it was so cool, her name is Raiza and it was a great thing, such a cool experience. baptisms are awesome and everyone can feel the spirit so strongly. anyways i love you all so much. im so grateful for all you guys do for me and all the support.
